This period includes a season of 'Short Eclipses' during late February and early March of 2019, when all the instruments will be switched off. 54 54 55 55 There will also be "moon eclipses" on spacecraft 3 and 4 on 5 April 2019. On that day both spacecraft will spend about 40 minutes passing through the Moon's shadow. Thus we expect that science operations will cease for several hours around these eclipses, due to lack of power. These eclipses will take place when the Cluster spacecraft are around 48000 km from the dusk side of the Earth, so are not associated with eclipses seen from Earth.
