This segment covers the period from 13 March 2021 to 05 June 2021 (after and including part of the short eclipse season 2021) and has 140% data volume as a baseline.

The payload will be on after the eclipse season at: SC1: 21/03/2021 00:00; SC2: 23/03/2021 12:00; SC3 & S4: 19/03/2021 00:00.

Cluster crosses the magnetopause through the whole segment's period, and the last predicted bow shock crossings are: 05/05/2021 on SC3 and SC4, 12/05/2020 on SC1, and 16/05/2021 on SC2. The main BM1 science targets are the magnetopause, the bow shock, and the Cluster/MMS/(THEMIS) conjunctions at the magnetopause, in the magnetosheath and at the bow shock. The BM1 data for the PEACE/WHISPER cross-calibration in the magnetosheath also will be collected. The main BM2 science targets are the AKR observations in conjunction with South Pole, equatorial chorus, dayside outer zone chorus, magnetopause, bow shock and inner magnetosphere hiss origin region.
